The role of regional offices and its environment in the community.
The Kakuda Space Center is one of the few JAXA office located in Tohoku. As a community center to offer aerospace education (space education), it is expected to offer space education to a wide range of people, including children as well as adults who want to learn about aerospace.
The reservoir in the Kakuda Space Center is an important water resource for local agriculture. Furthermore, while the area near the Kakuda Space Center is one of the most famous and beautiful cherry blossom sightseeing spots in Tohoku, there is no
end to littering and other heartless behaviors.

Space Education and Environmental Protection for Regional Contribution
As a professional in aerospace, Kakuda Space Center staff actively offer space education through lectures and career model discussion. The Kakuda Space Center participates in events at science museums in Tohoku, promoting the joy of learning experience through aerospace topics. Also, as a part of its environmental protection efforts, the Kakuda Space Center regularly conducts litter pick-ups by staffs. In FY2024, 59.3 kg of litter was cleaned up, contributing to environmental protection and landscape conservation. To prevent water pollution, the Kakuda Space Center's water reservoirs are managed with periodic strict quality inspection.
